A Guide to Using the AIPH Library

 

 

The Art Institute of Philadelphia Library is continually acquiring materials which will support the Audio Production curriculum. You are encouraged to suggest titles which will be useful to students in this department.

To search for materials housed the library, use Athena, our online catalog. Please note: Athena is searchable from on-campus computers only.

BOOKS. You can search for books by SUBJECT HEADINGS, AUTHORS, TITLES, or KEYWORDS. Some subject headings that may be useful in a search for course-related materials are:

Copy the entire call number for any titles of interest. Click on each title to view the complete call number and to see the entire record. If you are having a problem finding books on the shelf, or information on your topic, ask for help. We understand that you may not be familiar with this library.

Virtual Library Resources
Electronic Resources: Search the Library’s subscription databases to find full-text magazine articles, citations, images, and 400+ software tutorials. (User names & passwords required for remote access).

E-Journals + E-books: includes Gale Virtual Reference,  Safari Tech Books, & Mix magazine.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Videos / DVDs / CDs. Search for titles in Athena. A list of DVD & VHS titles is located near the Circulation Desk in a binder. Just a few course-related titles are:

In addition, the Library has a substantial collection of sound effects and music production files on CD which are shelved behind the circulation desk. An index to these CDs can be found near the circulation desk.

Magazines / Journals. Periodicals are arranged alphabetically, by title in the magazine section. A list of titles arranged alphabetically and by subject, may be found in the black binder near the circulation desk. Current titles include:
